The 2025 Clarion Christmas Bird Count (CBC) will be on Dec. 20.          You can join the fun and help us no matter what your birding skills are.
All counting during the 24 hours must be inside the map circle below.
You're welcome to join experienced birders who count a section of the circle by car.  To do so, contact our Field Coordinator, Mal Hays. Mal will match you to a section leader who will be in touch with you.   If you would prefer to hike, please also contact Mal.
If you live within the map circle and you enjoy watching birds, you can count birds at your feeder for any amount of time (minutes or hours!) on the 20th.  Simply print the Feeder Watch Tally Sheet and follow the Feeder Watch Directions. If you're uncertain about the circle, contact our CBC Feeder Watch Coordinator,  Cindy Bonner
The Audubon Christmas Bird Count (CBC) started on Christmas Day 1900 as an alternative to hunting birds.                     Seneca Rocks Audubon established the Clarion CBC in the1987 count year. It was held on January 2, 1988, with 17 participants and 44 species. It's been held annually ever since. This is our 39th consecutive count!
